Climate change and biodiversity loss are two of the most pressing challenges of our time, and they must be addressed together.
The use of Artificial Intelligence for species tracking, monitoring, and identification is a powerful way to better understand ecological processes, and thus, accelerate effective conservation, and restoration efforts in priority ecosystems.
We must accelerate efforts to preserve one of our moust valuable resources: water.
The use of Artificial Intelligence can power intelligent and more efficient water usage to optimize resource use, as well as increase the potential to ensure safe access to clean water where it is needed the most. Also, the use of AI systems can help us address issues related to the large-scale impact that climate change on our oceans.

Our current electricity grids, transportation systems, and agricultural activities, powered by fossil fuels, prevent us from cutting greenhouse gas emissions, main drivers of global warming.

The use of AI systems for data-driven decarbonization strategies can be implemented in many ways to boost a clean energetic transition, sustainable trnasportation systems, and loe-carbon agriculture.

People and communities must be put at the center of the conversation on the use of AI for social and environmental good.

In this thematic track, we will focus on the ethical considerations that should govern all design, deployment, monitoring, and evaluation of AI techniques focused on accelerating climate action, while leaving no one behind.
